Allied Waste of Lake Oswego Service and the City of Lake Oswego both recognize the important role that schools play in resource conservation through effective waste reduction programs. In January 2005 Allied Waste of Lake Oswego created a Recycling Coordinator position to work directly with public and private schools that serve the citizens of Lake Oswego and surrounding areas. The Coordinator works closely with the schools to provide technical assistance and information through waste audits, evaluations, equipment and supplies, proper signage, educational tools, classroom presentations, educational materials.

Technical Assistance to Schools

Allied Waste of Lake Oswego’s Recycling Coordinator works with public and private schools to set up and maintain sustainable recycling programs. Assistance is available with waste evaluations and audits, obtaining equipment and supplies, proper signage, and educational tools. Educational Resources

In partnership with Clackamas County, Metro, and other local government partners Allied Waste of Lake Oswego can help provide a variety of educational resources for grades K-12. The Oregon Green Schools Recognition Program

Oregon Green Schools is a program designed to:

  • Help schools effectively reduce, reuse, and recycle.
  • Recognize schools for their waste reduction and resource conservation efforts.
  • Bring schools together to network and exchange resource savings information, strategies, and ideas.
Allied Waste of Lake Oswego is proud to serve as a liaison and avid supporter of the Oregon Green Schools Program. Allied Waste of Lake Oswego’s Recycling Coordinator works side by side with the schools and Oregon Green school Coordinators. Currently Palisades School is the only school in the district currently enrolled in the program. We are looking to increase participation in this wonderful program each and every year.
